Why did it use the simple method?
The advanced models are only used if they beat a simple method on your own recent sales.
Every forecast compares exponential smoothing and the Theta method with a simple method like 'same weekday last week'. If the simple method was as accurate, we use it and tell you, because a more complex model wouldn't help you.
